I am new to this site and to the buggy world. I would like to build a safe busa poewred rail. I cant really afford the 30K turn keys that are out there. Rand across the team mot site and there LT-2 has a bunch of build options from plans to kits to rollers and then a turn key. Is this a good buggy and when i mean good i mean is my skull going to be crushed in the event of a roll over and will this thing come apart if built correctly. The price just looked do able. Please help

I guess I'll be the 1st to welcome you to the site...
Team Moto I hate to bash a fellow minnesotan If you do a search you will find a fairly heated and interesting post/thread on them...If you buy the plans EXPECT to get a owners manual on how to put together their kit not how to cut/bend the cage

I have looked around in here and you are right. I guess there are alot of unanswered questions about buisness practices and quality. I would hate to pay for a kit and not get what i thought i payed for. I guess if i could find a desent cage already welded up and peice it together from there it would be a good starting point you think?. I have seen alot of popular fabricators that off frames and then parts. Tom pro, sinister, short sand. Any suggestions on going that route. I am in no hurry to get one together and have to pay bills and a mortgage while doing it LOL

Before I jump into the fray too deeply let me say Welcome to MBN!
Now, tell us about your fabrication abilities and tools. If you have fab skills and a place to build it might be best to build from plans rather than pay for a roller 'cuz a good roller is expensive. Good advice to consider a used car. Problem is finding a good used car. At the prices some cars are going for you might consider full size, honda or subie powered. |

Thanks Gene. My fab experience is about 0. Unless you count the 24 hr home depot flux core rental but hey I did make to pieces of metal stick together. Honestly i pick up things fast and plan on purchasing a mig welder shortly. I was hoping for a a mostly bolt together situation. However If i could find a good used one i would much rather go that route then invest in the tools little by little to work on something of my very own. I just love putting things together.
