I've broken some stuff ,nothing special.
But when i was 35 (2 yrs. ago) i got pneumonia and i disregarded it and kept working. One night i was sleeping at about 3am and i woke up with a terrible pain in my chest. The pneumonia had spread to my heart and was infecting the sack around it,causing it to harden, restricting it from functioning properly.I still almost didnt go to the hospital,i told my wife it was nothing, she insisted that we go.Doc said i would have died soon if i didnt get to the hospital when i did. 1 week in the IC ,six weeks off from work.Took like a year for heart to pump to capacity again. Now i go for echo's once a year.

Crashed on a bike as a teenager.
I broke my arm in 3 places, tore the skin off the top of my hand as the clutch lever sliced through the top of hand showing bone and everything. Forget how many stitches that took to fix. Rear chain and side of tire tore most of my calf muscle off and flopping on my leg. Again forget the stitches etc but I do remember them scrubbing the dirt out!!! Dang that sucked! And a few other cuts, bumps, bruises. Sold the bike, sold my toys, RC cars etc. Bought my first baja bug and started building my own buggy. Took all the parts from the baja and made a buggy. Have never stopped riding in buggies since. So one day years later (like 15yrs) someone said hey you want to ride my new quad. I was like nah but they were like man you have to ride it. So I after awhile I did. I went up the wall on it at Glamis flipped at the top over backwards. (dont ask?? *[smilie=banghead.gif] ) The bike must have been about 10 feet in the air. I never new a bike could go up the wall so fast and I did not have a chance to even hit the brakes and stop before shooting over the lip. The bike landed back on me and shattered my helmet. Blacking me out. The helmet was broken in 3 pieces. I had some bad chest pains for awhile, bumps bruises this time lucky to not be to hurt. But again I say I will never get back on a bike again. Out of riding I was hit in the face with a chain saw when I was in the military. Long story but yes a person actually swung a chainsaw at me as a Soldier and hit me in my face! Took 17 stitches dry, no pain killer to fix me up. I was a soldier and he was a gang member looter stealing from people who borded their homes up by using a chainsaw to brake into their homes. This happend during hurricane Andrew back when I was in the military. Whats the matter with people? ![]()

Ya ATVnut wins but the chainsaw to the face sure sucked.
Scared the crap out of me too. I was lucky to have my Kevlar helmet, lexan face shield and some Ray Ban sun glasses. So as he gassed the motor and hit me it had to cut the lip of my helmet, tore off my lexan visor and cut through my sun glasses before it got me. Super sunny outside went to look into a dark building as he was coming out. I heard the saw but inside the building I thought it was a little farther away and I did not have time to adjust to the dark as fast as he was able to swing and hit me with it. Dang. I know the military tells you to be prepared for anything but I never knew this kind of anything. Oh and the coal miner and stitches to his pee pee... oh yuck.. I wonder if we as outdoor type people are just all accident prone? Or is it because of what we do that we get hurt? My wife carries bandages and first aid gear in her purse to fix me up on the fly with my daily cuts and what not. Man some of you guys are lucky to be alive. [smilie=ext_crutch.gif] * Glad your all ok and able to still enjoy your toys. Dang you guys need to be more careful. Reading some of your accidents I am totaly glad it wasn't me I have had my own and those where bad enough, dang.
