The forth slide was f1's car. *He sold it a little while ago. *It is trailing arm. *I don't think there is a buggy on here that is solid axle. *They don't handle that well. *The 3rd picture is Bugpac's car and it is a 5 link setup. *That setup combines the best of both worlds: *A-arms and trailing arms. *Were you the guy on Dezert Rangers asking about using a Toyota solid axle?

I used a Suzuki Samurai rear solid once before on a small car.
It had a 100 inch wheel base and had nearly 30inches in the rear of travel. (The samurai rear end is small and has larger axles than a Jeep so they are very strong) Here is an old pic. ![]() Just something to think about for anyone looking for a smaller solid axle. ![]() |

That yellow truggy looks like fun is there a build section for it? *Does it have a Samurai motor? That link that hero_saku39 posted was what I was looking for I am on a budget and think that would be the easiest and quickest way to complete my projects. *It was the angle of the slide show that made it look like a solid axle; bug pack has a sweet ride and didn’t mean to mistake it for a solid axle what an insult.

Nah nothing in the build section.
I simpley was able to get a Samurai for well free.. So I cut it up and used all parts I could to make a nice small, fun and yep it was a very fun little buggy. Alot of wheel travel, good ride and yep you guessed it Samurai engine, tranny, brakes, transfer case... well just about every part I could to save off the little jeep I used. Anyways sorry not what you wanted but thought a straight axle idea would be fun to share. Anyways good luck with your project please keep us posted on how yours turns out. ![]() |

did your Samurai have the
Samurai's usually have a solid front axle, but yours has a-arms did you still have 4 wheel drive because you said you used the stock transfercase? i can not see any axle shafts in the front it may just be the pic or did you keep the stock transfer case for the rear driveshaft? |

No I used the transfer case for gearing and so the drivelines still worked out.
Although I moved the slightly larger front axle to the rear to help with wheel travel and make the wheel base a little longer. But the front went simple a-arms no 4 wheel drive. I later added the straight axle back in after I kept brakeing spindles off. So I added the straight axle back into it and went 4 wheel drive again. Ran around glamis up olds and what not and even out to the wall and back no problems. Could not make it up the wall though... little under powered. * But ran and duned with the big cars in our group no problems even in 2 wheel drive. I would like to do this project again maybe one day but with a toyota or something with more power but still keep the small size to it. Anyways thanks. ![]() |
