I've been thinking about this too since I am thinking about buying/building something for my son.

My buddy Kevin has a Rugged radio in his car and it is awesome! You can hear each other obviously, but you can also hear the engine and things as well. Super cool.

I have a Rugged Radio 660 intercom in my ride and it is the best ever. The voice activated mics make hands free communication incredibly nice. I also have Sirius radio hooked up to it and when you talk it mutes the radio while you are talking and returns when you stop. also has input for ipod or your phone. My buddy just got a new rzr and we will be adding the car to car unit that will connect to my existing intercom. I have nothing but praise for Rugged.

I just remembered, another guy I know has Bluetooth capability too. It's a small module that you can add. Pretty cool to be able listen to music through the headsets.

Thanks for all the feedback, I decided yo go with a Rugged 660 and a 25 watt Car 2 Car. Me and Two of my buddies all went in and did it together and Rugged was doing a huge Black Friday cyber Monday sale and we saved 30%. Now its going to be trying to fit it in my Rail, I do not have a lot of space and limited on fab equipment at home.

The sirius works awesome. reception is perfect as long as the antenna can see the southern sky. The only time I lose it is when I am in narrow canyons with high walls or dense trees.
