Well I finally got back to some Saturday work. I got the rest of the golf cart stripped, now I just need to sell or scrap out the carcass, the frame being aluminum I should be able to get some $ out of it. Then I will get the bikes lined up again and start bolting them together, I can get the rear axle out of the GC narrowed and the axles modified to take the drive sprockets from the bikes. Seeing progress, renews incentive to get back to it!IMG_3972 (1).jpgIMG_3968 (1).jpg

OK, I got rid of the Golf Cart frame so I now have the "Shop" back to continue the build. I have the bike chassis attached with some all-thread to set the width, and have purchased some perforated aluminum tubing to attach the bottom of the frames together. That should happen Sat. then I can cut the frames apart and set the wheelbase.

    45w...? One 2' x 4' panel can produce 300-400w.

Well, I'm back after a long absence due to medical issues, a kidney transplant. I made it to my "shop" Sat. and dusted everything off, it had been a while since I had even seen the buggy! Anyway. I made some progress on the frame rails, by screwing together two of the steel home framing stud tracks to make a box section. It came out quite strong, even with only the wide spaced screwing pattern! In final construction I will used Aircraft Blind rivets, with a tighter pattern as needed. The golf cart drive axle will get the drive sprockets mounted to the axle flanges to drive the rear wheels with the MC chains. I need to replace the short axle and housing with another long side to get wide enough, "Should" be an easy fix. Next shop day I'll be mocking up the seat frame to get the rear spring setup sorted out.

Frame tubing?!!! That's house metal 2x4's. You would be better off with Aluminum foil.

Ive made scaffold picks out of steel 2by, very strong! I weight about 430lbs and they hold no problem.

I don't think you understand what hes building?
