I've been hearing reports of the new Hero3 having problems, leading to the release of the Hero3+. They should make it good for you. That's not much good when you miss a important recording, though. Sorry to hear of your problems.

I just bought a used Hero 3 Black and it's working great so far. My original Hero HD has been great as well.

Sounds like you just got a lemon. That should have been caught in quality assurance before it made it to you.

Does the Go Pro require formatting the SD card?

Tried reformatting... Tried updating... NOPE. Gopro did RMA it on their dime.
Still don't have a working one.
My Hero2 died within warranty too, I'm tired of jumping thru hoops... just need a working camera out of the box.

    Weird...
The little cameras work great for everyone I know that has them.
The only failure I know of is my brother's and that was due to operator error and an arrow. He was trying to get that perfect shot and, well, he did!!!

which SD card did you use?

You must use an SD card with a Speed Class 10.
