That "thing" is a mock up of Rc cars. I believe its based off the HPI Savage. Many of the parts in the animation are aftermarket aluminum.

Default Cool buggy animation....bbbbut who's gonna build it?

OK. I rise to the challenge. Well, actually, I was already in the process of building it. Should be fantastic and exhibit lots of look and feel in Manitou's creation only not so tall (but still plenty high off the ground.) And I agree, Chris' rig at Marshall Moto Art comes close. I met Chris and drove his second car (what I call Rock Racer II) up Moab Rim several mos ago at the UTV rally out there. Impressive. These are Polaris based but with his own tube chassis and suspension that are all Chris. I just visited his place in Ogden UT, he's on fire.

Mine will be
- all tube frame
- lotsa wheel travel
- lotsa ground clearance... when you want it and 4" when you don't. You guessed it, you can dial the height up or down about 12"-14" inches in about 3 seconds on the fly without changing the shock rate; the spring rate will go from softer up high for bounding over baby heads, cantaloupes & watermelons down to stiffer down low for extremely fast road work without worrying about rolling it (you're 4" off the dirt.)
- so lush suspension when you need it, stiffer when you want it
- 4WD with true locker in the rear; 'manual' locker up front (using front cutting brake)
- ability to crawl/bump ledges and real steep stuff: 35" tires 7.5" wide, almost no air.
- fair power: Suzuki SV1000 fuel injected V-twin: 120 hp; 76 ftlbs.
- true crawler in the morning (143:1 in low/low, that's 6 mph @ 8000 rpm) and hi speed when boredom sets in in the afternoon (7.5:1 high/high)
- VW Syncro transaxle 4WD: 5 speed, true locker
- Suzuki has fairly close ratio 6 speed trans
- 30 forward speeds, 6 reverse
- front diff is still up for grabs, in fact I just posted a want on this. If anyone knows lightweight IFS front diff that I can rework to 4.86 like the VW trans let me know (4.88 is more realistic and close enough)
- most buggies are good for this OR that, I'm hoping this will fill the bill to replace the craziness of dirt biking the nastiest stuff CO and Moab have to offer.
- light in the front, heavier in the rear (gotta jump, right?)
- Prob Type II or 930s with Dans/Empi 28 or 30 spline axles. I also just posted a want related to this. Need to marry the ATV stub axle and knuckle from a Brute Force, Rhino or similar to the flange which fits the Type II or 930. Tell me whos fabed those please.
- So ATV/UTV lightweight knuckles/disk brakes/15" ATV wheels on all 4 corners.
- Cutting brakes in the rear too. No, Martha, the steering wheel doesn't do enough good when we are carrying a little too much speed near the edge.
- Driver will be busy: 5 speed transaxle; 6 speed (paddle?) shifters; cutting brakes rear (steering); locking the front in or out of 4WD; lock/unlock the rear diff; cutting brakes front (tender touch front diff lock so we can maintain lock/no-lock from second to second when you're near the edge on a side-slip. Martha, quit screaming); clutch; brakes... oh and is someone steering? All this shit probably rules out checking email on the iPhone while driving, huh?
- Springing/shocks still open. Talk to me.

I have no idea how this will do on the sand. Hain't ever been on the sand... is sand fun? Lookin around here it seems like all you guys are in sand most of the time. How do you think it will do on the sand? I know, the tires, the tires... we can change the freakin tires.
