Is there anything you would change on the briggs built cars now that you've spent some time in and around them?
Just curious.

Hmmm..... That's a tricky one.
Definitely would like more head room. When I did the big endo/crash last summer out at the track, I rang my bell really well when it hit on the right rear upper shock mount area. I also hit my head on the roof when I rolled it at the dunes last year. Maybe make it 6" longer (long course chassis). The engine package I'm using could really use a little extra room. I'm short (5'7ish), so I fit in the car well, but I'd enjoy another couple inches of clearance between myself and the steering wheel - at least in the car I run. I was able to rock the engine back a tad on the second build and people up to about 6' fit in it well. The third car will have a little more room, if at all possible. It's so tight that it's not an easy thing to do. I'm working on a new clutch setup. The billet HRD driven (modded comet) is tender and twitchy. They need constant care and I'm out of spare parts. We managed to go through the three spare belts and destroy two of the driven clutches on the cars that we took to the dunes this last trip out west. I'm looking into some of the Team clutches - I believe the one that fits a Rhino is the correct diameter. I'm probably going to have to have the center EDM'd out to the correct diameter (I believe it's .875) and also have the key way cut. I plan on calling Team this week - got sick yesterday and am stuck here at home right now, so I can't get any of the info I need from the cars to pursue this at the moment. I can't put a regular sized sled clutch on or I end up with suspension mounting point issues. I also want to move away from the Power-Bloc and put the stock Phazer drive clutch back on. I'm tickled and amazed at how well the suspension works. I'm happy w/the durability of the chassis thus far. I think that covers it for the most part.

LOL!!! I touched down (if you want to call auguring the nose into the dirt touch down), flipped, landed on the wheels, stuck the throttle to the floor and drove away. Here's a photo sequence of the "action"... About 1/3rd the way down the page.
Good adrenaline rush, but no need for clean shorts. ![]()
