Default Genset for mobile trailer

Completely off forum here, but I figured I would ask, hoping someone out there might know...I am a fabricator by trade, and own a shop here in Washigton. As of late I have been asked about more and more jobs that would require more mobility than what I am set up for currently. In looking for and collecting equipment for a mobile welding trailer, I have come across some (4 to be exact), ONAN 13kw gensets, that are wired and set up for auto switching, etc. They are the type for powering a house, shop, etc. I realize that powering a welding trailer with them is a little (ok, a lot) overkill, but if I can get them at a good price, do a little "horsetrading", and come out ahead...who knows...mabey a little extra cashflow to buy buggy parts. I'm having a hard time finding any info on these things. They are ONAN built, diesel powered, 13.0kw. The tags give a model number of 13.0 RDJC-4R / 7804AB for the power unit and ATUDC 100-4 / 1201B for the auto switch. Anybody know anything about these?

Don't know about that particular setup, but the Onan that I have in my truck is killer. It's the 6 kvw Quiet Diesel genset and it's wonderful.

Very reliable, doesn't use much fuel at all and it's nice and quiet. Good unit overall.

I would imagine that pretty much all of Onan's products are of equal quality.

Don't know anything about the generators that you are refering to but if it is for a mobile welding trailer, why not just find a used Portable welding machine like a Miller Trailblazer? Small, multiprocess and about 10k watts of AC power?

I guess it just came down to an issue of horsetrading...I have plenty of welders (some I'd like to get rid of), and for the price of these (very low cost), I could sell a couple and do what I need to with the positive cash flow. This is one of the reasons I was trying to find out what the going rate for them was. As I said, I realize they are overkill for the intended purpose, but what the hell, better to have too much and not need it, than to need it and not have enough. Seriously...I thought of running a compressor, welder, lights if needed, and any other power tools used at a remote site. I was accually looking for a compressor when a guy told me of these, took a look at them, and started thinking about the profit possibilities.

I think it's going to need it's own trailer!

I wonder what sort of resale you might be able to get from one of them? - might make it worth purchasing a couple and keeping one for yourself, even if it's overkill.

That's kinda' what I meant in my last post. I bought four of 'em. Now just need to know what the good price to sell at.
Trailer was the thought, with air compressor, welder, lighting, flip down sides with chop saw and support rollers on one side, vice and other things, toolbox, blah, blah, blah. Then the important things like stereo system (7.1 surround of course), cold tap drink fountain, TV...you know...important stuff to help get the job done.

Don't forget the fuzzy dice and dangling skirts (like a parade float) around the bottom of the trailer!

Fold down bar and pop up stools and roll out awning is needed too.
