Who wants Ice Cream!??! Read before you say yes!

It's all about the Ice Cream



The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.



To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.



The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Every one applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down. The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."



She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it. She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.



Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, and fifty percent of America reacts like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other fifty percent know they're going to have to feed the cow.

Did Jamie offer such a gracious and noble consession speach?

sigh... what about all the "ice cream" bush promised us? 2 wars with no way to pay for it? the tarp bailout? did not veto a single spending bill until the stem cell bill. why don't you just admit you dont want a "black" man in the whitehouse.

Yep, that's it....racism.
Give me a freekin' break.
So because bush was a screw up and started us down this road it's just fine and dandy for obama to continue that path?
When bush did it, it was wrong.....it's just as wrong now as it was then...the color of the presidents skin has nothing to do with it.....get a better excuse for supporting obama then telling all his critics, "Your a racist."

I also think Bill Clinton should be jailed for life for N.A.F.T.A. and Bush and Cheney for for thier Oil war.

Ronald Reagan was no peach either. He was listening to his wife who was getting advice from a Medium (You know the kind that looks into the crystal balls.) This was cause he was loosing his mind already at the time and they were trying to hide it.

I WILL say that Obama DID walk into a bad situation. But so far impressed me he has not. His popularity is falling all over. So far the only change hes allowed is to give taxpayers dollars to people who are already filty rich for stealing anyways.

He has done little to none of his campaign promises and the pathes he is taking are not good ones that anyone seems to like (aside from those rich thieves).

Don't come on here and tell me I just do not want a black man in the white house. Thats far more racist than I am or will be. You do not have a clue about me or how I feel about people who differ from my skin color or what skin colors make up my family tree.

Besides Obama is not a black man. Do your homework before you accuse.
