The analogy of the bacteria is interesting. The goals are vastly different though. I will trust we are not discussing the eradication of the Mexican people?

I agree it would be good to see a greater enforcement of current laws. But, we will not stop migration if we do so. Example, any Cuban who steps foot on US soil is allowed to stay in the country. That is by law, and, it clearly allows for migration. In fact, we as a country allow for a large rate of legal migration. So, enforcing the laws will not stop migration. The law recognizes that migration occurs.

I think the frustration comes in on the illegal migration side. Again IMO we cannot stop the migration, only impede the flow by enforcement of existing laws.

One last thing, the quote is attributed to Tony Blair, but I don’t think it is his. “A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at …. How many want in…. and how many want to get out.” It’s a nice problem to have.

I have caused enough grief here.

I am going back to the funny pages.

Thanks for the discussions.

BTY,

Bill, you have two out of the three of your requests. Maybe the third as well – I just don’t know that much about Michigan politics.

Nope, just that law enforcement (antibiotic)WILL control an infection(illegal immigration). Some infections (like herpes) are controlled to make for a better life. Might not be able to rid yourself of it but you'll be glad you tried!

DUH!!!! That's what we WANT to happen.

Well this seams to be a bit more of a topic than we ever imagined...seems that middle American motor heads are an intelligent and politically active demographic....any thoughts?

As now of can fix this alone I agree to get with or chosen rep and talk it out....I would watch the Henry Ford thing...he was a socialist and a Nazi sympasizer before WW2..sorry.
The party that gets in to office next is one of the important ever......several judges are going to retire and the next president will pick the new ones.....these are the people that gave us anchor baby's by mistake by amending the constitution, also they are the ones that can give you you rights......not what you think you are due or what seams fair or the right thing but "rights".
Most people in this country do not understand how important this is or care. How they intemperate what the founding fathers wrote down is how free or burdened we are in the future.....they should not make law or policy but intemperate the constitution and define the laws we have. The last vote that you may have heard about was the 2nd amendment case in DC....the people won but the vote was 5 to 4 that means that 4 judges went against the constitution of this country for there own agenda......pretty scary....and if you look at it the "right" to bare arms is not for your personal protection but to protect you from the government and even to form a militia and take it down if you have too...(not what I am suggesting) but if more people new how important it was we could get past so much BS.

Thankfully we have these cars to work on. At least I can take a hammer and torch to mine when I'm really upset . . .
