Whenever someone takes a poll about this kind of stuff thats NOT with the government (i.e. influenced) it seems that 80 to 85% or better of the people oppose like 97% or more of what the G ment does. If its not by the people for the people (The masses (i.e. 80 to 85% or better)) Then its NOT the government. Its something "else" and our forefathers mentioned what should be done with them. Bill

But, besides voting, what can we do? Absolutely nothing! as far as I can tell. Very few politicians are in it for anything but being above the laws that they create and money. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to politics. (I am going to try and change that.) So I ask, what can we do?

What we can do is what we are doing AND write letters and call your congress person to make your opinion known. It takes only a few kooks to shut down a light bulb and cause importation of CFL's from wherever.

Write a letter. Print many copies. Sign each one by hand and send each one in a separate envelope to as many people in congress as you can. Email is good to but actual letters take effort and get noticed.

Call your congress person to let them know how you believe the energy crisis is created by scaremongers. GHG caused by humans is not scientific fact and that the scientific community has backed off the claim. Point out that the earth has natural weather cycles including ice ages and it happens to be getting colder again. Suggest that we as a nation need to develop a 100 year plan to new forms of energy but that we need to be reduce independence on foriegn oil while realizing that our entire economy is built on oil. In other words we can't change the infrastructure, culture and everything else in the short term. We need to produce more oil now to prevent the weaponization of oil by the third world to destroy the American way of life.

I'll stop there for now. I am pissed off.
