Question minibuggy site funds

this is a quick Q to the admin, is the site completely paid through the adds on the sight, or does one or more of you help pay for it?
cause I'm thinking that many members would through in a little change to help with the costs, not shure how it would work, anyway just a thought

The site was started by Amergin and he paid for all. Then he introduced the concept of donations and some of us donated. Then he introduced adertising and some advertising revenue came along but not enough to make ends meet as far as I know.

Advertising and actually getting ads posted has been an effing mystery. Only Amergin knows WTF to do with getting ads posted. Admins have conferenced by phone with Amergin to take over the site yet we are not able to get a simple ad posted for King Sand Cars.

Frustrating as hell to not post an ad for someone who has actualy charged his credit card.

So I'm telling stories out of school to see if it effects some change. We need to pay the bills for running this site. It should not be coming out of anyone's pocket because this is not a charity.

This site should be cost nuetral at worst and a profit center at best. the current situation is not sustainable unless we have a benefactor who pays the bills because he loves the sport and the opportunity for us to participate in this forum.

Good idea. Many other forums have a way to make donations to the site. I don't frequent the site all that often, but I did post a for sale ad and if the parts sell, I would donate a portion. Sort of like a commission for the use of the site.

Looking forward to an answer,

Dan

hmm, I see , I wouldn't say that it's a charity so much as a resource for a lot of us, that being said many on the site would hate to lose it, including me, and would rather help pay for the costs then have the thing go down, so if a donate thing was set up along with the advertising it might make the whole thing cost neutral

ya I bet that's frustrating not being able to put up an add for someone that's paid, i also think that w650's idea isn't a bad one, just not shure how it would work
anyway I think it's probably worth a shot to do a donate thing, but that's just my opinion
I do think that it would be a good idea to let the site users know the situation and get their thoughts on it, but I really don't know what people would do

thoughts people

I believe that there's a donate button somewhere in the site - but don't hold me to that.

Contact Kludge (pronounced Klooj) about this - he's the main man behind running the computer side of the site. (and has done a stellar job of it too - Thanks K.)

The problem is, if Amerigen cant be contacted, then there isn't much sense in Donating, as he will need to receive the money...
