I got a call last week from a guy, retired chemical enginer, has a great idea for a cheep street legal car and wants to know if I want to get in on building one. Im not busy so I ask him to describe what he wants to build. He wants to build a 8 foot long, three wheeled go cart, he says he wants it to be a soft tail, and its to be battery powered and capable of 60 mph. Says he wants to be able to drive it on freeways to show that it can be done. I dont know what to say so I ask if he has this drawn up so I can take a look finished drawings. No drawings BUT he has a model he made of 1/8 brass rod from the hobby store. Wants me to fill in all the blanks. Needless to say we didnt go any further but if any of you think this idea is the cats ass I have a phone number.

It does not sound like anything I have not seen done. It would certainly not be the first and 60 mph is not hard even for batteries. Now if he wants a long trip taking machine thats battery only thats tougher ($$$).
