Many of the china made buggies have remote shut off with a key fob.

Seems a while back I found something simple and cheap on ebay that I figured could easily be wired into the kill lead on the ignition to ground it, but now I'm seeing Stuff for like $80 or replacement ones made for specific buggies that may have funky wiring.

    Anyone add one themselves?

you could get a pingle kill switch (dead man switch) used on quads, you could even go cheap and have the ignition connection using a loop with 2 spade connectors, attach that to your cable that you run behind.
My son started out on a Suzuki 50, used to put a tie down strap on the back and take turns running behind, it only took about a 1/2 hour before he was good to go, or was it I couldn't go any more? anyway, it won't take too long before you are confident that he's ok on his own.

Put a shocking dog collar on the kids leg and if he gets in it to bad zap the leg and they will jerk it off the gas pedal.

Another avenue would be to get a cheap/used RC car or plane and use a servo motor from it to ground the coil out.

Thanks guys, I knew these existed, just need a tip on what to search for. This should fit the bill, as long as the kill circuit on the engine didnt fry the box some how:

12V DC 500 ft 0V Dry Output Wireless on Off Remote Control Relay Switch RP100P | eBay

Otherwise could use this one that puts out 12v and have it control an automotive relay to isolate the kill lead from the box.
