Well I started a buggy build for my 6 year old boy. He and I started bending and
Welding today, got more done than I expected.
    Overall length 76 inches
    Track width 45-50 inches
A arm front suspension with 7 degrees rake and 5 degrees castor
Not sure yet about rear I want to use a small lsd either on a straight axle
Or machine some drive flanges and use some small Empi cv's, probably 16.25
I'm pretty sure the can get 25* of range.
Looking to use either a preditor clone motor with a comet torque converter or
I can get a new 150 cc automatic 4 speed with reverse for about the same price (Chinese motor).
10 inch wheels on 22 inch tires
I'm thinking about using Monroe sensa trac coil overs for the shocks
The buggy should finish around 300 pounds so it will be light enough for
The shocks. I believe the sensa trac springs are 60# rating.
Should be able to get 8-10 inches of travel.
Frame weight is just under 100 pounds
    Main frame is .083 x 1/2 tube and bracing will be 1 1/4 .083
I know it is overkill but that is what I had in the garage.

Here are some pics from today, still probably need two to three more
Days to complete the main frame.

Great to see you get to build with your son. Now get some action shots of him holding up his end. Maybe throw a dictionary down to sit on and do the Vroom! Vroom!

Was able to get alittle more of the frame completed this week.
We are hoping to start on the A arms by next week.

My kids are already way to excited.
    The wife not so much...

Here are a couple pics of the progress

Vroom Vroom for sure. I love the small builds, everything is so much more stout with the smaller dimensions. I think the look might be saying, "uh dad, how about a steering wheel so i can pretend steer too?"
