I am new to the forums so please bear with me. I am looking for plans to build a 2 seater mini buggy. I want to be able to take it down trails so I dont want to be to big. I am going to put a crotch rocket motor on it so take that into consideration. I like the look of the panther plans but I want a two seater. Thanks

From what I've seen here "plans" are thin. If I was to build a two seater I would look at what TutTech and maybe Desert Dog offroad is doing. They appear to me to be similar designs and are without a doubt, successful.
It's mostly a matter of "how much room do you need" for all the critical sections. I copied many pictures of completed buggys here and centered on one that is about the right size of what I wanted and went for it using my body as a ruler. The engine and drive components were basicly supported to a tube ladder framework and that was welded to the minimal floor plan. The upper rail and roll cage system were sized just like stated above, no more than what was needed. As the frame goes, it was clearly the easiest part to figure out,, it's the suspension that tweaked my brain. weas Last edited by weasel; 08-22-2008 at 02:17 AM. |
