Default miller maxstar 150?

Hi i am thinking about purchasing a miller maxstar 150 for tig use.

Id like to know if anyone ones this and uses it for tig welding, and what their opinions are on it. I will be using it on 115v with an air cooled torch. Mostly for 1/4 steel and smaller. I have been weldign for years and work and want to be able to tig at home off of 115v.

Not sure about the model you have or mine, but I have a 115/220 Miller welder (suitcase) that I use for tig work @ home. I love it, if I could not buy another just like it, I would not take my money back for it. Plug it up to 115 or 220 and it self adjusts to either.

I just bought an older used Maxstar 140. When it works it's great, unfortunantly, it's having some issues. But for what I paid for it, it's worth fixing.

I have the Maxstar at my shop where it has been used for stainless mostly but it sure is nice and compact. Never had any issues with it, and my work has since bought one. I would reccomend it as a good little machine.

I did all my welding on my frame with the exact setup you're talking about. On 115V, it does remarkably well off of a 20A circuit. It's really nice being able to move it around the frame without having to lift a 50 lb machine. It welds very well, too.

I borrowed one of these machines from my shop a while back and did my a arms. I ran it on 220 but the think worked great. and 115v is real nice for emergency desert repairs using your generator if you can stick weld you dont need a bottle either. I bought a lincoln 115v flux cored machine for my trailer. Never had to use it but its always comforting knowing its there.
Did you ever buy this machine?
