Default Tubing for my R82s build

I'm getting ready to start in on the tubing layers on the buggy. I'm looking around for a supplier of CDS. I've been buying my mild steel from Patton's Steel, but unfortunately they do not sell anything but mild and some aluminum. I'm having a tough time finding a good place to buy CDS, but I'm finding DOM is much more common.

1. should I just use DOM? It seems to be the choice of most buggies anyhow...
2. Does anyone have a good source for DOM tubing in the greater LA region?

Thanks

DOM and CDS are the same thing, they are just called different at different places. Drawn over madrel, and cold drawn steel.

I suspected that was the case. Nothing came up in my searching. I was looking for something that said CDS/DOM...

Thanks for the info.

Summit steel has about the best prices. Have also gotten some good deals from Cal-Mesa.

DOM has a seam and CDS doesn't, but apart from the price they're much the same. CDS can be very expensive.

Patton is where I've been shopping. They don't carry anything other than plain ole steel. No DOM, CDS or chromo.

Thanks for the replies.

Rorty- will DOM work just the same?

I just ordered mine from online metals. *onlinemetals.com *Good service from them. *They have a good variety of stuff. Usually get my stuff within a week. *All my local suppliers want way too much for DOM.
