seatbelts are for wussies, all you need is a good pair of driving gloves, some sun glasses, and a beer holder and your good to go....

5-point
3"

Bolt in for the lap belt, either wrap around or bolt in for shoulder straps.

edit addition: ah - submarine strap. I forget about that one.

I use a six point (jet pilot) setup (in the old Deztaz & the Gen IV car). It has a pair of straps that wrap around under your thighs, just below your butt cheeks and holds you in place, keeping your lower half from lurching forward during the dreaded sudden stop.

The lap belt should bolt in below and behind the hips - roughly at or up to about 2" or so forward of where the plane of the back of the seat and the floor meet.

Shoulder end should not drop lower than 4" below where they come over (or through) the shoulders of the seat.
DO NOT ATTACH THEM TO THE FLOOR AND THEN UP AND OVER THE SEAT - THIS CAN CAUSE YOU TO BREAK YOUR BACK!

From the floor, up over a cross bar (that's no lower than 4" than the shoulders) can be done, but why use the excess material - just attach it to the cross bar.

2 inch anti sub belt. Those sizes are basically standard.

what? are you high?
3" period...minimum 4 point...5 point is optional if you think you could submarine, most women think your getting fresh when you reach for the sub....
What PLK stated is the min. required...3" doesn't cost anymore just more comfortable and better for the bones...K has a point...lap belts should be bolted...google that...If you choose a wrap either, the x -member should be braced and mounted at the apprpiate heigth., to the shoulder level, so not to cause you to submarine...or COMPRESS your spine...BOTH can be bad...

Sorry, should have been more clear, i was adding to Kfab's post. I would only use 3 inch, but the anti sub belt is a little wide at 3 inches. Two is more comfortable.

No, he's fine. *The submarine straps are usually 2" while the rest of the system is 3".

Lol, never been high in my life, except I'd a little addicted to building and spending money on the buggy.
