Thumbs down Truggy / Trophy karts

Hi there all new on this forum.

Im very interested in building a truggy / trophy kart with a bike engine in it say round 400 to 600cc engine.

I downloaded the plans for a truggy over here: Mini Truggy Digital Download Plans [32558] - $69.95 : Long Travel Plans, Digital Download Long travle Plans

Not very detail plans and lots missing out of them.

Has anyone got any other places that have got better plans or lots of photos of the frame and that.

I like this 1 and emailed them about it but didnt get much info from them apart from they used the plans i got and they just changed parts of it. Link: Chatsworth, California, Trailer, service, repair, custom, parts

like this video:

Thanks

Welcome to the site, Blue.

Contact Gootjr. on this site. He's doing a Trophy Kart sized ride and he's doing one Hell of a nice job with them. Talk to him about his design, share your thoughts with him and see what he has to say. They guy's quite knowledgeable and very friendly.

The Trophy Karts have some drive train issues (or it may be "had" - not sure of the present status of the setup). There were issues with keeping the chains on the sprockets.

Still, either Goot's machines or the Trophy Karts should give you a lot of insight into what you're wanting to accomplish.

I believe those issues where with a solid rear axle that was able to twist side to side like a normal truck. I believe he's running trailing arms now, which will fix the problem.....

Depends on your intended use, most popular is trailing arms, followed by 5 link, then a-arm. All have pro's and cons....

There's also a 3 link, and a swing axle setup that some people run..

I'd go with an a-arm rear end for your use....

Ok. So is trail arm and 1 swing are setups mainly for streight line stuff?

I have the plans for the double A arm front and rear from the edge products, maybe i could do sumthing like that setup but in a tuggy/trophy kart style.

I have the plans for the Signle A arm and also the Double A arm plus the Double A arm with CV's from the edge products. Just looking other the plans for the truggy and looks like this would fit nicely in the rear of the truggy and would make the cab a little longer and more engine room.

What you think? any ideas?
