Default New Frame Idea

Started drawing up a few cage/chassis ideas for my future build. This is the one I've spent most time on. Its a single seater, track of 1800 - 1900 mm and a wheel base of about 3200mm. Up to 20" of travel. I intend to design a bulk head to hold the front end together with the A-arm assembly and top of the shocks. What do you all think?

Another thing I need to do is the rear end for the engine bay. I'm not sure on how long to make it. Thats why it kind of looks like it stops after you get past the mid rail behind the seat. I need to fit the fuel tank (30 - 40 ltr), a 1300/1400 engine and a center board axle drive. Some advice on that would be helpful to no end. Thanks.

If you have about 40 inches behind the seats it should be good. Go PHAT with 45.

Got a bit more done on my design. I'm not the best on solidworks, so it takes a long time. I have the lower control arms attatched and a bit of an idea started there. I can't figure out much more there untill i draw up some spindles. I've been trying to sort out how im going to tie the front end together. Maybe the paint pro's can lend some ideas
I now have an engine bay which I think starts to make it look like somthing.
the 1st pic shown fron the top gives you approx track and wheel base.
I'm intending to spend a good while planning and designing this project, so I get it right on the money. I don't care if I have to start all over.

How wide is the spread between the a-arm mounting points?

The work looks really good, but the narrowness of those mounting points concerns me a tad for a lower arm. The load needs to be spread out a bit more - at least in my opinion.

Make the rear a-arm mounting bolts go through the frame tube behind them like this.

Then move the front mounting point on your diagonal braces from the A pillar forward onto the plate for the lower arm mounts similar to this truck.

Thanks, good idea. The mounting points are 300mm apart K-Fab but doing what bdkw1 said, I should be able to get them further apart.

Thats plenty far enough apart, they just need to be tied in better.
