yes i do now own the frame. i was going to start fresh and build one but it was only 200 bucks so i just thought i would give it a shot. I noticed the whole shock thing too and compressed it down and they work good but will bottom out before i wanted them to. I have already planned to get the fox air shocks and cut and make new upper mounts in the right spot. I noticed on the upper a arm i could screw in that ball joint and wouldnt that help out on it quite a bit?

The top arm should be shorter but it more so needs to be AND have its mount at the frame farther out than the bottom. (go back to the first page of this thread and look at the "racing inspirations" link I posted.

It might help you see how the arms need to be. Especially if you are going for a LOT OF TRAVEL. Less travel it will be less of a deal but still.

If you simply screw the hiem in the spindle will tip inward and may not be to your liking. Its not really the answer. You WNAT the tire to be lenaing inward (camber) and the top of the spindle back from the bottom of the spindle (caster)

Spinning the Heim in will give you a little but the camber curve (the path the spindle takes as it travels from droop to full compression might be out of wack. Thats why its so important to really study before you design and build one. Front end geometry IS one of the hardest things to get right.

ok so I have decided to go ahead and get a liquid cooled engine for this car and have found a few in my area. I did have an almost complete 99 cbr 600 for 500 but got sold within one day so i am now in contact with a guy with a 2000 cbr 600 and he has a radiator, engine, sprockets, disks, calipers, carbs, headers that he is willing to sell. What is a good price for all of these things???

About 400-500 bucks unless its got under a thousand miles on it. Make sure you get the ECU for the motor and the key switch. EVERYTHING needed to run.

Can you see the motor run first?

ya the motor is in the bike right now and he said he will run it for me before i get it and i have no idea how many miles are on it. I was actually callin him about a fuel injection motor that he had but i think that would be too much hassle and it did not have the ecu or regulator. The brakes off the rear of the bike will work well for the buggy also right??

The brakes may work just fine if you can connect them to the drivetrain. A lot depends on the tire size being used too.

I am also about to do the steering and would like to know if there is any tricks to doing this besides making the tie rods attach at the same angle but just above the lower arm mounts. I am mounting them in front of the spindles and i did get rhino wheels that wrap around the hub. Any input will help

RcTek - Radio Controlled Model Car Handling Main Section Page

Make sure you understand ALL the points of a front suspension before you try to design or especialyl before you build anything. The above links should shed a lot of light.

The arms angle IS important but where its at is determined by the spindles you use. If you buy spindles then you have to build around where they hold the tierods and make the parts at the frame match for it to work well.

If you build your own spindles then you can tailor them more to your needs.

Can't say I can recommend a rack. I aint a fan of racks myself.

I am building my own steering system. I cannot say for sure it will work like I wish but I am gonna try it. If it does not work I will set it up like a quad has.

I might also add that I HATE steering WHEELS. I like handle bars and controls JUST like a motorbike or a sled (depending on the motor). Bill
