Shorter wheelbase, less travel, and quad tires. It might beat it in a drag race in sand with some paddles. I would rather build the r21 that would be more stable in the rough terrain at speed with a safer cage design and proper tires. I suppose it depends on what he is interested in doing with the car.

two things, to throw in my 2 cents worth 1 stronger is better 2 i have the badlands buggy (sorta of, changed alot of stuff) and the one major thing i wish I would have done differantly is not putting atv tires on. I would like to have gone with reg. dessert tires and standard wheels.

I like the edge stuff if i were you and depending where you are going to use i would get the piranha plans and build it with russels double a arm front end and double a arm back end and use tube instead of the box section.check out there forum there is plenty of info on there and a few different examples of tony's designs. I have sidewinder, barracuda and hypersprint plans and all are excellent quality and easy to understand . just my 2 cents.
