How heavy and how much horsepower do you plan on using in your buggy?
For reference, the minimum tubing for Baja SAE (10hp, 500lb cars) is 1" x .120 wall. I would not use less than 1.25" tube for roll cage members, so given your two options I would say the 1.5". The only downside is it will be heavy, but you won't have to worry about strength. You could use less bracing with the heavier tube. |
