Default panel material's ??

I'm not sure if this is where this belongs but here goes
Looking to cover the sides and bonnet area of the buggy I just built . Wondering what types of materials a person should be looking at Plastics metal or aluminum . Askin for any and all imputs . The buggy will be used in the woods all kinds of mudd and water holes . Ran it a few times in the woods before I painted it "got soaked" , hey its off road don't get me wrong just want to try to keep some of the mudd off me cold here in the spring and fall.
wouldn't want to get hypothermia while out for a saturday blast in the woods in April
still to much snow here but springs its comming
Thanks for any Imput Sodman

Alum is a common choice. A ABS plastic can also be bought in sheets, and molded with a high heat gun. Or there's always fiberglass if your good! I like plastic myself. Easy to replace, comes in colors, and doesn't dent.

A stretched cloth body could be done. Like a canvass boat top. Or with some skills aluminum is nice. If you can bend and mount it. But its usually a little more loot.

I like the idea of plastic cut sheets to fit in the triangles of a frame. You could zip tie them ( budget) or use Duzs ( how ever you spell it) fasteners. Look at the yellow buggy below. Plastic in the holes like that buggy is. Not water tight but keep most of it off. More likely a sand option.

In the woods metal would be preferred I would think. Take a tree branch better. Rocks to "IF" one came at yah off a tire.

Plastic sucks in the sunlight tho, will look like cottage cheese if mounted rigid, Zip ties would allow it to move, but would have no bling bling if that's what is sought..

Ask Proto about plastic panels. Looks great but grows and shrinks in heat or cold. Aluminum is better for that reason.
