I just ordered one of these from Revolution Race Engines.
These guys make some smoking motors and Ecotec parts.

In my case, the oil filter is a huge PITA to access, and it's only going to get worse once I move my radiator. So, a remote seemed like the way to go. Not only will it add capacity, but make my life much easier.

The Billet oil remote assembly comes with all the o-rings and the wave spring. Its a 3 piece deal that replaces everything inside your little cast oil filter cup. It is made to accept #10 fittings and your cost is $185.00.
P/N is RRE 2-1-0

The owner is Kieth and a real good guy to talk to.

Buggy was working great about two months ago. Tore everything apart to finish, paint and reassemble to be completely done. When everything was put back together the engine started having some troubles.

As of now, the engine wont start without opening the choke all the way and keeping it there. I fully warmed the engine up and whenever I put the choke back it dies, or if i give it gas, it dies. Two months ago, it would start right up even without opening the choke and ran fine.

Do you think the carbs are gummed up? It has only been sitting for two months and worked fine before. I ran some seafoam through it and will try it today and see if that will help.

Just wanted to get some opinions before I tear apart all the carbs and clean.

Thanks!

Andy

I was going to go with a desert kart design but now I want to build a 2 seater; I am wondering what your thoughts are on a car roughly the size of a sand bullet or sort sand car. I was thinking a car with utv sized wheels and tires would be better for the engine size. I also think i may have a problem with the clutch on a larger car. thanks

I currently have a two seat Short Sand car. During a recent trip to Armagosa I started to feel slippage in 1st & 2nd gear. Since I have to pull the motor I figure that I will upgrade to a 1397 Big bore. Do I need to do any specific tuning once the engine is slapped back together? Will the stock injectors still function or do I need to go larger? Will it require reflashing? What kind of horsepower / torque gain can I expect? Since I am going to have the engine opened up should I throw in a hi-volume oil pump? Car is currently configured with 4:85 gearing Extreme Sand Squirt 1300 Comp Cut paddles and custom header exhaust. Pretty much stock. Any info / suggestions will really be appreciated.

I can only assume that someone out there in the wonderful world of Minibuggy.net has at some point or knows of someone who has mounted a ZZR1100 motor into the standard Piranha rear end.

I was having a quick look at my motor the other day and it seems way to big to even come close to fitting, the biggest thing that stood out to me was the way the sump came down so far.

So please does anyone have any tips or pictures on how they have mounted theirs and or a friends ZZR1100 motor.

Thanks in advance
I am converting my buggy to Rotax 583 power.
the motor and clutch came from a 1994 formula z
I´m wondering what the rpm off the driven clutch in relation to the motor is.
Some say its the same as the motor, some say 2:1, that is half the motor speed.
I need to be sure so i can figure out my gearing.
Any help would be apresiated Thanks.

Thought I would share a project I have been working on since last July.

Thought I would share a project I have been working on since last July.

A big problem we had racing was how much dirt / mud would hit the air cleaner. High velocity Rooster tails from the car in front of you would send a hail storm of dirt in your face,,,,and everywhere else when running second [smilie=alright.gif]

We raced GSXR 600 and would use an after market K&N oval filter with an outer wears cover.
Then we would wrap with a K&N foam outer wrap.
This worked real good, and we never had any dirt / sand make it's way past the filter setup.
But, we had to add guards to deflect the mud, dirt from the outside to prevent clogging it up.

I would have gone with the same set up, but the GSXR1000 throttle bodies are wider & the same filter set up would not work.

So,,,,,I decided to design up exactly what I wanted.

Filter used is from a Ford Focus 2006 2.0
K&N filter is around $35 and stock paper is,,??$15-20??
I used this because it was way cheaper than a GSXR filter and offered more air flow volume
I can get a stock one, or a K&N one for this, and afford to keep spares around.

Around this I have a pre filter K&N foam set up. This guards from 90% of the dirt coming in.
Main intake is bottom front of the set up, well protected from dirt roost.

The cover is really a dirt deflecter & not intended to form a perfect seal, but direct where the air intake is from.

With the tapered sides I can shim it, or raise it up to increase air flow if needed,,,I could have 1/4 to 3/8 showing around the edges if needed.
The foam pre-filter, will still guard against the majority of the dirt.

I have the stock GSXR air sensor mounted in the box, and the 3 main breather hoses also coming in to the box.

Bottom plate is machined for the stock rubber boots. I designed this seperatly to accomodate for different motors / throttle bodies

Customer this one is for, I designed a cad USMC logo for him,,,then had it polished / brushed aluminum.

Mine I plan on a GSXR 1000 logo like in the cad pics.

I'm mounting a 10gal spun aluminum fuel tank to my rail to replace a smaller 3 gallon tank. The old tank had a nice flat on the bottom that I could mount the fuel pump from my gsxr600 to. There's no flat on the new tank, and I'm wondering what you guys do to plumb the fuel lines in?

Are you running the pump in a smaller auxiliary tank which the large tank just feeds? I've thought about going to a separate inline pump, but can you bypass the ECU so it thinks the pump is installed?

Thoughts?

Thanks all.
