I just wanted to get this clear. The 97-03 F150 4x4 front bearing hubs and outer CV's will recieve a standard 930 axle right? From whiplash's thread it looks like it is a plunging CV and he measured approximately 2.5" of plunge.
Does the 930 axle C-clip retain the axle correctly in the Ford CV? Also the splines from the 930 will slide inside the CV like a 930 will? I am curious how much it is cabable of sliding on the splines or is that included in that 2.5" measurement? What is the bolt pattern for the bearing hubs? It looks like there is 3 bolts. What is the opening size in the plate to clear the bearing? Also confirming that the Ford bolt pattern is 5 on 135. I am assuming with this setup you would use a 930 CV on the inner? I have a part# for the bearing - Timken 515017 ? Price is $150 ea. where I found them. Rockauto.com has the complete axle/halfshaft for $52each where I found them. I guess you have to buy the whole halfshaft just to get the outer CV? If anyone can confirm this info I would appreciate it. |
