First off, i know not a lot of people on this site use this style of clutch. This is the one i used for my kids buggy. The center to center distance for the driver and driven in the instructions says that they need to be 10 1/2" for proper belt tension at engagement. I have the jack shaft rod and engine shaft rod centered at 10 1/2" exactly. The problem is the belt seems loose at idle and it squeeks after running for a bit. Could the clutch need some kind of lube? If so, anything i can use over the counter or do i need to order something special? If it helps the model number on the belt is 203789. Thanks!

Loose at idle is fine. *If you're running the belt they recommend an the center to center distance, then all should be good. *Is it fairly hard to get installed?
Belts like to be broken in - you need to run them fairly hard for about 10 minutes or so - then let it cool off completely. *It helps seal the surface of the belt. *Odd sounding, but it works. How about your alignment? *That's very critical with a CVT setup. *If one clutch is not in line with the other, the belt gets an additional lateral force added to the regular forces and that can cause the squeak. * Comet does offer a lube and they recommend it with their products. *You might want to look into that. *Dennis Kirk should sell it if you can't find it locally. Those are the things I'd look for off the bat.
