Default Gear Chart

Gene

So as not to hijack a thread again, I thought I would start a new one.

I stuck your numbers from the one picture you posted into the chart I have and stuck in what mastrfabr says the primary for a busa is. * This is what I come up with. *

I am not necessarily saying this one is right for sure, just that I come up with different numbers.

Oh yeah, .... never have figured out why this thing shows ### when the numbers get over something like 105.

Default That is interesting

Kent,
According to your sheet my final drive selection of 6.94:1 is way too low. However, seat-of-the-pants in a Belmore car (and my sprocket rocket)says otherwise. Fortunately I can change it if needed.

Fascinating discussion though whether to account for primary drive in final drive selction. Reading Yoshi's recent post it seemed that he was buzzing along somewhere between 65 and 80 MPH in fourth. Those results fall on either worksheet so his seat-of the-pants comments would add to the thread.

On the # symbol there appears to be plenty of width to the cell but it may be that 105 is slightly wider than 101. Try widening the cell to carry the width.

Nice work. This should get pinned with an Excel file for others to use.

I forget where I got this... might have been the Yahoo group?

I think the primary absolutely has to be figured in to get the correct speeds etc. It is part of the gearing between the motor RPM and the Axle RPM.

Ahh so that is all the the ### is. Seems like they could just cut off the number rather than doing that. Then I would have known to spread out the cells.

Default Re: Gear Chart

Those are the same gear ratios as a 750 GSXR, but the rpm goes up to 13,700.
