I though I'd start a thread covering some of the diffs that we've all been researching.
Spool: Homebuilt, no differential, chain driven, cheapest way to go. Transworks: Has reverse, inboard brake option, direct drive. $2295 Sand Bullet: Has reverse, inboard brake option, direct drive. $3995 Quaife CD Axle: Chain driven, reverse. $3195 Quaife POWERtec: Has reverse, direct drive (not shown on website). $4795 JEFFco Reverse Diff: Has reverse, chain drive. $3500 JEFFco Reverse Hub: Has reverse, chain drive, no diff. $2500 Roberto Gearbox: Econo unit for under 50HP. $1250 Roberto Gearbox: Direct drive for CVT. Live axle. $2000 - depending on options Jaxsports Reverse Gearbox: Has reverse, chain drive. Available straight or 90 degrees. $2800 Any others? Post and I'll move the data into the first post, maybe we can get it added to a FAQ or made into a sticky. Last edited by amergin; 06-21-2008 at 09:24 AM. |

Ive seen the Jeffco rearend and all I can say is that thing is a work of art,it seems pretty bulletproof to me.I believe all the internal gears are made of 300m and it turns like butter,no hp robbing resistance.I think one of the major mini builders has started using these or is in the process of starting to use them.
