Just an update, I have my diff mounted in the car. The sprocket that goes on the front of the diff is from sprocket specialties, and its $62. It has no holes in it, so I can drill any holes I want to. I am going to lengthen the axles to about 30 inches (92 wide car) and I think that should be good for 20 inches travel.

I really appreciate the hospitality, but its jut not realistic to do that. Im not just in need of x ammount of xxdegree bends. I need the car and bender on hand at the same time.
Yes, Im using the cheap ass bender to bend some of my pipes. So far Ive not even used it for anything on the rail. I expect 2-6 bends total from that orange thing. but it works fine so I dont see the problem even if I wanted to use it more. |

the trick is to fill the tubing with sand, and duck tape the ends, if you havent bent any tubing with it yet, you will see, it works great for pipe, try a scrap piece first, then go to h depot and get a bag of play sand, try to get it packed in good, tap it on the floor with one side covered. i personally have never did it this way, but i have heard a lot of people make this suggestion. 8)
