How strong are those trailing arms? Can you twist them at all if you really try?

They are DOM tube reinforced with flat bar. I think they will handle any torque or torsion I will apply to them. I hope anyhow.

It might be the camera angle but they look a little thin but looks can be deceiving. Twisintg is one thing and if to thin bending with the length might be an issue. But lets hope not.

Anyone who builds something new lives on this prayer! lol

I know you got a lot of it prebuilt but it still applies to other work and your own and mods to either! :]

Don
I wish I could still build them. I get 5 calls a week for Center Carriers.
I have everything but the center carriers and the stuff listed on the web site under "not in stock production delays".

Ok, I have what I believe are Type 1 stub shafts, 33 spline what ever Dia, I am out of state and can not measure at the moment.
I am looking to use Off the shelf parts, I know I will be very harsh on this mini. Does anyone know where I could get a Stub shaft splined for say a Yamaha Raptor / banshee Rear Rotor? thanks Don

Sorry I have not commented on this thread.I think the rear frame should be longer. As it is now the chain will be so short that it could be problematic.

My suggestion? Redesign the rear completely beginning with placing the engine, allowing for a chain that has sprockets a reasonable distance apart and trailing arms that allow camber change and better design than the folding set you have going now.

Good start. Do it right now!

I agree with redoing my whole rear end... I am gutting it this winter, and going with the 3 link like that of Drakart, thanks for your input...

The rear end is why the builder gave up. Completley solvable.

That looks like it was originaly a baja car and was built for a 10hp briggs, by the size of the trailing arms and lack of room in engine compartment. All that it will take is a little work to have a great little car, you've got a good starting place. I think that if you measure everything(two or three times) and get someone with a CAD program to help, you can design the center drive and its location to see if there is enough room now or if you have to rebuild the whole rear half of your buggy. Good luck...
