Starter motor reverse might be an option for you. Yoshi had it on his first car and I think Erwin from Argentina might have it on his build. He posted earler today and I think I saw it in a picture.

XRH meant to put this link up:
Just an old fart from Florence Oregon Its way better than reverse. It reverse with multiple forward ranges. And its pretty cheap all told.
