It is not that hard.
Keep track of your parts, shims, or washers so you know where they go on re assembly,,,,,and be carefull of the seals and not folding them over with the shafts when putting the cover back on.

When done, make sure there is no binding, and the shaft spin freely , or like they did before the gear change

Parts would be the gear set - pretty much nothing else.

Contact Danno off the site or follow his stuff to his phone number and ask him.

Dan can be hard to get in touch with. Be patient and call a couple times if needed. He will respond eventually.

When you put the side plate back on, make sure that you use a good sealer.

Permatex makes a (newish product) killer sealer that comes in a squirt cheese style bottle - can't recall the particular name/number. It's a black sealer. Works beautifully.

Make sure you wipe down the mating surfaces with acetone before applying the sealing agent. You just need to put an 1/8" bead on the cast case's edge for a good seal.

BTW - Steelerman, would you edit your profile and add location?
How far are you from Cincinnati? I'd be happy to help walk you through the gear change if you're decently close and could come to my shop. I'll gladly point, grunt and guide you through the procedure.

Very easy to do just stay organized and remember what went where.

What gears do you want?

Thanks K-fab, I am in central Missouri so I am a little to far. I have a Desert Dog that had a 670 Rotax, I put a new 660 turbo in it. The torque is awesome and really needs to be geared higher. I think power and torque will be similar to the RX-1, so maybe Jay can tell me where to go as far as the gearing.

You could do yourself a digital assembly manual, take photos as you go, assembly is generally the reverse of dismantling

I am waiting on a new set of gears to stick in a tranny.

I'll do a write up of how to go about changing them out when I do it.

Probably in the next week or so.
