what type of flang and axel will this take ?type 1 or 2?

vw is vw so you can put type 1 2 4 or 930 flanges on it then which ever you pick you just get that kind of cvs and ether stock axles or order custome cut ones if you need a certin lengh other than stock
type 1 12 degrees type 2 17 degrees type 4 22 degrees 930 25 degrees type 1,2,4, can all use the same axle (spline count is same number and size) 930 is not vw its porshe these are save degrees meaning that you wont have any problems from the cv if you stay in this |

To figure out what CVs you have, check this web page out: Blind Chicken Racing
The link above has info on CV joints, axles and stubs. It has specs on the CV parts so you'll be able to cross reference what you have and find out if it's type I, II or IV
