hey guys im new to the site but have alot of experience with tig welding and corr trucks, so my question is i have a Honda Magna v45 engine which i am going to use, it has a drive shaft that runs to the rear hub/ wheel. im looking at a few diffrent routs i could go the first would be turnining the enine sideways and hooking it up to a 4 link rear end, something small and light possibly a small pickup rear end. or i could run it to a trans axle? and use cv's looks like most people run subaru's or is it possible to take the rear hub appart and possibly machine something that i could mount cv's to. what would you do i see alot of people run cv's but i how will the transaxle line up since my drive shaft is to the left unlike what im used to which is trucks that run down the center. |

There are several builds on MBN using drive shafts. These are in Projects In Progress. Look for BDK1W's Honda Gold Wing powered car. Mine is called Another Mini and it is a Hayabusa turned sideways running a differential (that has given me fits). Busasandcar and Sandaholic have Busa powered cars with sideways engine installations running jackshafts to subie diffs. There are others too.
Look around. Lots to read. Last edited by Gene; 01-27-2009 at 06:19 AM. Reason: Delete a turd |

pics will come friday my camera took a S*** but i have found out that the drive shaft rotates the same way as a ford rear end i had one laying around and just used my common sense, i am going to the junk yard *my favorite place ever* to maybe rip out the drive line of a small subaru and look around at other my friend brought up that firebirds might work. i might just make it a 2 seater and stuff the engine in the center but pics will come soon.

bmw's have very simular shafts as 930's there senter section /or dif is aluminum and also small in size i think for a shaft drive engine this would work quite well
as a side note because its independant susp it has mounting bosses made on it |
