I have the great fortune to work for a large corporation and we have a engineering dept. I work in IT and was able to score a copy of SolidWorks 2009 to use in a "LAB/Testing" environment.
Now I just started and dont really know anyone here, also i learn better on my own anyway... I want to use SolidWorks to design a frame,etc.... Anyone got any pointers? I've played with it for a few hours and there is a huge learning curve there. HAHA. would i be better off with AutoCad or some other program? |

Do the tutorials (help, solidworks tutorial). Once you do those SW is much easier to use.
Also go to https://forum.solidworks.com/threads lots of info there |
