Default Cooling fan

I have a 250cc honda in my buggy and I have noticed that it gets hot at times especially in the warmer months. I plan on using a 11" fan to cool it down but I am not sure if the motor output is enough for the fan and if a motorcycle battery is large enough for the fan. Will this set up work or will I have to get a bigger battery?

The motor will probably power a fan from 8-10 amps. You will just have to see if the battery gets drained down after some run time. What model of engine is it? A larger battery will also get drained down, but it will take longer.

It's from a trike. Is there a way to fit in a thermostat for a air cooled engine?

You can get a thermocouple and put it in between the motor fins. I think summit has something that does that. That motor should be putting out 150 or so watts through the windings, so it shold be able to power a fan of 10 amps, but not with any lights. The 10 amp fan will draw about 140 watts, and the little extra will help to charge the battery after you start the engine.

On my Yamaha Air Cooled 250 powered buggy the fan comes on with the ignition switch and stays on the whole time the engine is running.

Is it a 250sx, or es engine? I think they have the same lighting coil, but i'll take a look at 3ww to see what the rated output is.

Do you have shrouds around the engine too?
