Ok out of 5 people there is a 3-2 split.I have said all along that it is your right to do whatever you want and I'm just giving an alternate viewpoint for others to take into consideration. It again just happened to be your picture that was there for the comment.Don't take it so personal.

Actually I forgot about spec. That makes it 4-3 my favor. But who's counting????? It really makes me no difference to me *who agrees or not .The point was to bring about discussion about something I have always had concerns about. Not to bash Joshi or his wisdom.I would like to see what the rule books mentioned have to say about the actual mounting restrictions. In other words do they have a minimum distance from driver/required angle or ??????????whatever. This has been a little general as to what is required by them up to now.ANybody have a copy of any rules they can share?

WOW!!! I just read this thread because I was referred to it by a more recent thread. . .

. . .and all I can say is WOW!!!

I'm gonna back Yoshi on this one though when it comes to the pistons leaving the blocks. . .it happens. . .a LOT!!! If you don't believe that it happens then you haven't been around motorsports enough. . .my bosses 3 cylinder Suzuki Swift econo car launched a spark plug through his hood at idle. . .I was behind him on my motorcycle at a stop light and it came back and bounced off my helmet. . .

. . .my buddies '69 Dodge Charger w/a 440+6 Max Wedge blew a piston through the head and through his hood straight up into the air. . .

. . .both of these examples have way less CR than a MC engine does. . .

. . .I won't touch the radiator placement issue with a 10 ft. pole and I don't want to revive a dead horse, but I did feel it was necessary to back Yoshi on the piston issue. . .and like I said those of you that don't believe it. . .it does happen. . .do the math and figure out the velocity that a piston is moving at when an engine is revved out. . .still don't believe it can happen after doing the math then just go spend a couple of weekends at a drag strip. . .you'll probably see it more than once in a weekend. . .

. . .Yoshi. . .that's a nice looking rail BTW!!! Caught my immediately once I started visiting this site after being referred over from RDC!
