Default Busa engine trouble?

I just bought my rail two weeks ago and it was running fine at the house. I ran around the block a few time and it worked great. I just took it up to the dunes(Imperial) and after about an hour of driving it started to get real sluggish at higher RPM's (7-8,000) and continued to get worse after that. It will hardly stay run now. It idles real rough and hesitates and cut out. Does anyone have any ideas?

I checked all the hoses cause it seems like a vacuum leak. I also changed the plugs and it has fresh gas. Maybe sand got in there but it seem unlikely.

Any help would be nice, Thanks.

Make sure the plugs are getting spark. You may have a dead cylinder. Could be the plug coils. If their getting spark, do a compresion test on each cylinder.......

Get your self a manual.... and start checking your sensors. There are quite a few sensors that if they failed could cause problems. Mine did something similiar two weeks ago. It would run rough, start hard and have a bad hesitation from ldle to around 6000 rpm's. Found the problem after hours of checking, it was a bad fuel pump. The pump was running and was putting out fuel but it wasn't enough. The way I found it was my header was glowing red after idling for a few minutes. With the new pump everythings works now.

The engine is getting spark. I don't have a compresion tester.''
Sad

It's not running a code (-C00). I'm starting to lean towards the Atmospheric pressure sensor.

Thanks Gene. I've actually been on this site for awhile now, just have'nt posted anything. I just got rid of my Pilot and did a major jump up to a 06' 2 seater LT Busa built by D&SRacing. I'm the second owner, but the first owner only had it about 3 months before selling it. The thing is awsome but I have had some small little problem with it. The first was the tip sensor which is now fixed and know I have this engine problem.

Default Tell us more....

I've heard that you can over ride the tip sensor in some way, like gluing it in place.

Can't say I remember D&S Racing. Do they have a web site so we can see whassup?

Why did the first owner sell it? Tell us about the car!

Also check out Hayabusa.org if you have not already done so. More motorheads = more possible solutions.

D&SRacing is a small outfit out of Nebraska. Brian is the builder and he is a real nice guy and buggy builder too. He does'nt have a web site, but anyone can give him a call(let me know if you need the number)

The reason the first owner(Eddy) sold it is because he was a paraplegic and he put a Pilot steering wheel in it so he could drive it but the electric shifter was giving him too much trouble and he had to go back to a sled motor (Drakart).
