Default Power steering...again

I was interested on whether or not power steering from an ATV would work on our buggies? *I see that this question was posted earlier by Mrdiesel, but that thread was jacked in a major way! *The main question he asked wasn't answered as far as I can tell, although I did get a lot of reading done about N/A vs. Turbo.......

Honda is doing electric power steering in one of their quads and I think either Yamaha or Suzuki may have it also. *If you can figure out how the system works, you could probably adapt it.

Other than that one thread, I don't believe anyone's gone down that road.

The real question is whether or not a quad P/S would have enough assist.I'm really interested in the idea but have my doubts as to whether or not it would work on a mid size buggy and don't see the need of it for a small buggy.Any opinions out there?

I called this company a while back, they use the same motor on all the kits, and said they have worked fine for street use on cars weighing over 2k pounds...

My reason for looking into it is I'm planning to build a 4WD woods buggy using a 4WD quad. *If I can figure a way to use it, I'll look for a 700 Grizzly to build it from. *They came with PS and quite a beefy quad. *I plan on keeping it as small as possible and going single seater. *The power steering would be a huge help in a ravine or tight space in 4WD!!

Why can't I edit my posts? *I wanted to add that I want to build a single seater version of the C4 K-fab mentioned in one of my other posts.

I know, the edit feature is gone, and it was giving me hell in another topic. I ended up with 3 replies instead of editing one..

Yes, they would work. I looked into these a while back but the pumps new were very pricey. Some Euro compact cars have electric PS pumps which are about the same thing. The only down side is they require more power than a pure electric system and weigh more.
