I checked out that link to the atv electric power steering its pricey at about $1000 for the kit. It looks like its the column mount delphi system. does anyone know what cars they come on? You could probably get them in a wrecking yard pretty cheap. from the website it sounds like the electronics are pretty easy to hook up? I'd be interested in a system like this.

I have a Delphi unit out of a Cobalt and it looks nothing like those.

No and No. I tried putting power to it to see if it would work but no go. I have been told that they tie into the ABS and other computers on the car and may need some input form them to operate. Some time in the near future, I will get a wiring diagram for the car to better understand what it needs. I'm pretty sure one of the inputs they need is a speed sensor as they are supposed to be variable assist biased on vehicle speed. I'm hoping I can use the speed sensor off the Goldwing motor for this or fake it with a steady state signal.

bdk1- I figured in an oe situation there would be some interface with the cars computer or other sensors. It would be too simple for the unit to be stand alone. If you make any progress on conecting and instaling this unit I'm sure lots of people on this board would be interested!

Flaming river makes a stand alone using a type of this unit with a controler box. Unfortunantly, it's expensive and they won't tell Me what's in the box.....

Yoshi--did you ever get the engine with the powersteering and alternator working in the car? I read 7 pages of off topic before I stopped. how did the power steering work? How did you get a pulley mounted to the outside of the case? I was kind of thinking about going to a full hydraulic system where there was no steering shaft but my main concern is getting a shaft through the case to put the pump on.

So has anyone tried the full electric power steering kits yet? I saw they have them for utv's has anyone tried them on a utv? I'd like first hand info before I buy if possible.

The rail is almost running, waiting on a few special order parts to show up and I will take it out for testing..

There is a billet cover that bolts to the motor that attaches the pulley to the crank........
