my wiring harness is was done by downs, I was wondering about the fuse holder. *I bought one that I can seal up, my question is, dose one of the wires coming in to the block heat up the hole block or do they come in as pairs to the fuse block? *
thanks * [smilie=banghead.gif] |

It depends on the fuse block...if you have a pic or a part number/manufacture of the block I could figure it out for you.

What are you trying to do with the new block,
ie. replacing the stock block, adding more circuits, or just cleaning up the harness......

I use this style block (after removing the stock block) in the cars I have wired, they work really well and give you a nice clean installation. To install just put 12v to the silver stud with the nut on it and distribute the power through the fuses to what you need to power up.

First and foremost do you have a wiring diagram for your year busa? If not get one ASAP. The proceed.
To remove the stock block from the wiring harness you will need to figure you what is left on the existing block.....Off the top of my head, you will need to transfer the fuel pump power, cpu/ignition power, and the radiator fan power from the existing unit to the new unit. The lights, turn signals, dash, and other acc. were probably all ready removed (Im guessing). Here is what you need to do if you want to remove the stock fuse block - first thing is to seperate the stock unit from the wiring harness, to do this see what downs left and see what they removed. There will be power coming in and going out of the fuse block for all of the accessories label each item on the load side of the fuse then cut them out. -second after the block is out find a good location and mount the new block. -third run a wire from the line side of the starter relay to the new fuse blocks main power lug. This wire can be fused with a 30-40 amp inline fuse if the wire runs in an unprotected location. I use this location because it is an easy way to get a good solid power connection w/o resorting into tapping into the harness. -fourth figure out what you need to power up and fuse each slot accordingly. At a min. you should have a 1) ignition fuse 2) fuel pump fuse 3) radiator fan fuse 4) light fuse -fifth run the wires from the fuse side of the block to each wire that was cut off of the old fuse block. Basicly the new fuses for each item will power the old wires that your removed from the stock fuse block. Each wire will need to be rerouted to the new block until the all the wires are terminated. -fifth this step all depends on how the charging circuit is run verify that there is a wire that runs from the output of the rectifier to the battery. Sometimes in cutting out the fuse block you will interrupt/cut the main charging wire this wire needs to be landed in a place that it will charge the battery/system. I think that about covers it....remember that this was of the top of my head w/o a wiring diagram infront of me. And I might of forgot something. Hope this helps
