It is more difficult, but you can get Ackerman with front steer.
I you have enough KPI you can raise the steering arm while keeping it very close to the rotor and achieve true Ackerman. You can also keep the majority of the tie rod rearward of the lower arm. Raising the tie rod on the spindle will help to get it up and out of harms way too. These pics. show a front steer with true ackerman. Notice that much of the tie rod is protected by the lower arm. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
