Default Arm restraint question

Not sure if this is the discussion board for this question but at any rate, is there a specific spot the arm restraints are suppose to mount at? Do they loop into the seat belt or do you weld on a ring or something near the steering column for them to hook on to?

Thanks!

Andy

Most hook the seat belt so when you un buckle in a hurry they come free...

DO NOT attach any sort of arm restraint to the chassis - you want the restraints to come out of the car with you.

Most of the time the arm restraints have a loop that you run the seat belt tab through before securing the belt. This way, when you release the belt, it lets the arm restraints come free from the car, but stay with your arms.

Don't run the restraints down the belts - make sure you keep where they attach as close to the buckle as possible.

Assuming you have a crotch strap use the loop on that strap so it is below the buckle assembly - that way in the event of a roll, it pulls against a "limit" that is imposed on it by the lap belt. It also may have less in the way of buckles, etc to catch on in the event of a quick exit.

I run them on each corner of the bed, although I need to run 4 for the bottom post because my wife has really strong legs and keeps breaking them.....

Haha, thats funny stuff . I'm about to tear down my build and paint and do some last minute things. I'll be sure to post some pictures when done. This was my first build and a learning experience but i think it turned out decent considering.
