Howdy folks,
I recently purchased a partially done home-made mini rail. I would like to get a tach, speedo, oil pressure, volts, and water temp gauge. I just don't have a clue where to start. I am not familiar with bike motors, and I have never built a buggy. Could you guys give me some direction. Sorry if this topic has been covered... Thanks -Jay ![]() ![]() Last edited by JaySea20; 06-11-2009 at 01:16 AM. |

Thanks for the responses guys. The numbers on the block are KL650AE..... The motor probably came off of a klr650. Yes, the motor runs quite good after cleaning the idle jet and capping the open line on the motor side of the carb. It has a high flow muffler though, and im pretty sure it is the stock jet. So, it runs a little lean on the top end.
Anyway, back to the topic. I have the original gauge cluster. and the original harness. But the harness is a hacked mess, and the gauges do not work. -Jay ![]() |

Thanks Diirk,
Those things are cool. Is that GPS? I have my heart set on anolog gauges. The good news is that I got my tach and temp working today. My speedometer takes some kind of mechanical cable though. On another subject, anyone know where the "fan" temp switch is located on my KL650? After seven hours of re-wiring, I was able to correct most of the problems. But, my speedo and fan do not work properly yet. I am more worried about the fan switch or the temp sensor than I am the speedo. Still, any help is AWESOME!!! -Jay ![]() |
