Kill switches go to ground - so when you push the button, it grounds out the system and send the signal that usually goes to the coil back to the frame. (path of least resistance)

The easiest way to see if you've managed to screw up the kill switch is to unplug it from the wire harness and then see if the machine has spark. If it does, then you know the switch is the culprit. - and make sure that you can quickly attach the switch once the machine starts (it should die if the switch is the issue).

LOL!! A bit of a predicament, eh?

What are the colors of the wires you're dealing with?

Black w/white stripe (may be red) usually goes to the switch and then a green wire will run from the switch to ground.
