Default Good Question

and various answers. Let's start with: (in no particular order)
Las Vegas:
300 Miles to Glamis (Gordon's Well and Buttercup in same area)
110 miles to Dumont
650 miles to St. Anthony
1050 miles to Coos Bay, OR
Why: You are in the middle of the best but have to drive a bit. Oh, and no state taxes plus the cost of housing should be less than CA.

Yuma:
13 miles to Gordons Well and Buttercup (a few more to Glamis)
Why: See above. Plus if you like boating then the Colorado River is the summer activity along with night rides at the dunes.

San Diego:
150 miles to Glamis etc.
260 miles to Dumont.
1000 miles to St. Anthony
980 miles to Coos Bay
Why: Glamis etc. I grew up there and would live there but may never be able to afford to return. Lots of great things to do there. Great desert riding too. Plus Mexico.

Oregon:
The Oregon coast.
750 miles to St Anthony
Why: I can afford to live here overall the sand is good. The weather here is temperate. I choose Washington because it has no state tax. However, if you work in Oregon you have the pleasure of taxation without representation.

Oklahoma:
Ask Yoshi
Why: - look at his shop. I think it is more than you would possibly get anywhere else.
Why not? So far from the rest of the sand.

Retirement dream: Snowbird to Yuma. Spend time at St. Anthony and Oregon coast during summers. Have a NW coastal home for summer.
