Re: cvt motor-clutch adapter problems
I got my new adapters from Gary at Microbelmont. Wow!! what a difference in machine work and structure. I like to hear the resonance of parts and see how that relates to strength. These emit a very high pitch tight sound barely audible. Where as the other ones chimed very loud and short. I dunno. I went and tried the car on the track that I want to race on the 8th of nov. and "tested" the new part. My idea of testing something on my car is to drive the living snot out of it and see what breaks. The adapter held up great to 4 laps of serious abuse with multiple jumps and tons of banks. I stopped to give the car a once over before really going for it and noticed that the copilot tire looked bent in. Upon further investigation we discovered a bent combo stub. I guess I hit some of the corners a little to hard. I had the same issue with the drivers side stub last month. So now we ordered some new 2" hollow stubs and hubs to "upgrade" the area. I am very hopeful that my clutch adapter problems are behind me. Now lets see if I can get these parts into another country and shipped to me by next Mon. so that we can modify the uprights. Speaking of uprights. What would I need to do to my A arms to use a off the shelf upright. I have seen several available but the overall height and angle is slightly different. Would it be as simple as attaching the lower arm "as is" and then modify the upper to work out the proper arc. Or am I way off.
sorry I'm rambling
